The Google Consumer Barometer 2017 study, entitled “The mobile majority”, shows that today 73% of the world’s population uses a smartphone and 86% of the online population accesses the internet daily.

Colombia ranks second in internet consumption through a smartphone in Latin America according to the Google Consumer Barometer, since 83% of the country’s online population connects to the internet through these devices. It is preceded by Argentina with 86% of the population online.
The use of applications increases more and more: there are currently 11.7 million apps in the different application stores in the world. During 2017, 197 billion downloads were registered, which represents an increase of 60% compared to the previous year. Likewise, 50% of the time that smartphone users spend on digital media is in applications.
